JAMES NORWOOD SIGNS

So yesterday I was just going about my day, revising hard for my last couple exams this week, the usual, and then, this happened:

Yup that's right people, the EFL top goalscorer last season with 32 goals in all competitions, has now signed for Ipswich and his name is JAMES NORWOOD. Now we had been linked with this guy since about March, but I was always like "No... he wouldn't", but then yesterday on 10 June, dreams became a reality and on my Instagram feed there is was, "Norwood has joined Ipswich on a three year contract!" I lost my fucking mind...

I was just in absolute disbelief that we had managed to get, on paper, one of if not the most in form striker in the whole of english football to join the Pride of Anglia - and to make matters even better, we got him FOR FREE! Yes, we got this guy for no money at all! His contract was up at Tranmere and beat off apparently at least 3 other championship clubs to get his signature on that elusive piece of paper. I bet Evans is happy that he didn't even need to get his wallet out lol.

But really guys, what an unbelievable signing for us going into League One. Yes many will argue he hasn't played at this level before and yes that's true, he could be a flop for us - but considering that the season before last in non-league he scored 20 goals, and last season a level higher he scored 32 - I think we completely have the right to be happy and optimistic over his ability at this level. And from the interviews he seems like just the kind of guy we need. He comes across such a nice guy and from what he says he thinks the club can challenge to get back to the promised land of the Premier League in a few years and he wants to be part of it and will do everything he can to achieve this. Well I think getting the PL is a bit of a far fetched goal at this moment in time I think we can all agree but it's great to hear a guy who still recognizes that this club has the ability to do great things in the future if we keep going the way we are under super-Lambert (okay maybe not quite super but I'm in a good mood okay XD)

So how will Norwood fit into the current squad, well I think it's fairly obvious. If we keep this 4-3-3 formation, he will slot in as the main striker. I mean him alongside Alan Judge on the left and either Gwion Edwards or Jack Lankester on the Right could tear up League One if they all play to their best ability - which for all 3 players is very high. He could be the next Daryl Murphy for us, someone who scores loads, is a true leader on the ball, wins headers and gets stuck into every game.

So overall I'm absolutely buzzing for Norwood, if he plays to his full ability or even half of his ability  (which is still 16 goals...) then he will be the best signing we've made in years. And once again he was free! As you know we also signed a new goalkeeper in Tomas Holy a few weeks before again on a free transfer, could be our no.1 depending on whether or not Bialkowski goes (which I recon he will) and he once again looks great, He's a giant so will full the goal and is very good with the ball at his feet, unlike Gerken last season so that's fantastic too.

That's all from me guys, exams are so close to finishing and after that I will try and post as much as I can. Thanks and COYB!
